KENDRA LILLEY, LCMHC

Hey, I’m Kendra! My clients get to know me in our work together. I am not a “blank-slate” therapist. I will laugh with you. You will pick up on my dorky side (not that I really know how to hide it). You will know that I am truly with you.

I have always loved hearing people’s stories and getting to know folks on a deeper level. As a kid, I was brimming with curiosity about everyone around me – from my teachers, classmates, and even servers at restaurants – and I had a reputation for asking a lot of questions about people’s lives. In high school, I loved to write and take photographs and planned to pursue a career in journalism. It felt like an amazing way to help people feel seen and heard by writing their stories and capturing their portraits.

My career goals evolved over my college years. I was very involved in campus leadership and service-learning programs, as well as working at the rock climbing wall and leading outdoor trips for students. I had so many positive experiences with helping professionals on campus during my development as a student leader, I was inspired to pursue a career as a helping professional.

I completed my Master of Science in Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and completed my internship at the Salem College Counseling Center in Winston Salem. Since graduating, I have worked in the university setting, community mental health, school-based therapy, wilderness therapy, and private practice. In my journey, I have worked with adolescents, families, and adults from a wide range of backgrounds. I am particularly passionate about working with tweens, teens, and adults who struggle with anxiety, body image, and self-esteem issues, and women with ADHD

Outside of my time as your therapist, you will find me devouring books (primarily historical fiction, social justice related non-fiction, sci-fi, or fantasy), experimenting in the kitchen, traveling the world, or exploring our beautiful backyard of the western North Carolina mountains with my husband and our two dogs.

Let’s work together!
